We are a Bible based Family centred evangelical church.
We are active members of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and members of the Evangelical Alliance.

Our purpose and aims are:

Where did we come from?

In 1994 Grace Community Church was formed by John Gillespie. Having been homeless for several months after leaving its former Methodist premises , in 1996, the church eventually secured a farmhouse and potato storage barn in the village of Morval between Looe and Liskeard. The barn was converted on the inside into a church building by an economical method that left the outside still looking like an agricultural building. This provides Mr Gillespie with an apt illustration to regularly remind his people in the style of the letters to the seven churches of Revelation that they must remain faithful or the Lord will turn the building back into a potato shed.

The Lord has called quite a number of the congregation to go to Bible college and to minister and plant churches elsewhere.

Six years ago an adjoining 7acre field was purchased and prayerfully the plan to hold a Bible Week was hatched. The first Bible Week took place in the summer of 2003. Our fifth will take place this year between the 18th and 25th of August. Please see www.gfbw.org.uk for details.

In February 2006 we extended our family and planted a second church in the area, Torpoint Community Church. God has really blessed this venture with growth well beyond our prayers (Torpoint). In the latter part of 2006 a planning application to expand our site here at Morval to accommodate additional worshippers met with some local objections and was, eventually after considerable public debate and prayer, turned down. We look forward to what God has install for His Grace Community Church family here in South East Cornwall for 2007 and beyond.
