Serving Away

GCC supports a number of people working in the Lord’s service around the world.  They include young people brought up in this fellowship serving overseas as students or on discipleship programmes, couples and families involved in long-term missions in many locations, including South America, Africa or Asia, and individuals and couples placed with churches and Christian organisations elsewhere in the UK.

John and Tessa Gillespie

John was the pastor at GCCC from 1994 to 2012.  John and Tessa work with Global Training Network to train Majority World pastors and Christian leaders so that they can more effectively equip their congregations to evangelize and disciple their communities for Christ.  John divides his time between studying and preparing at home in Kansas City, and making trips across the world to disciple pastors in places where they have little or no access to training. Johnny and Jenni Gillespie

John and Jennie have recently completed a marathon 6 month DTS Mission. They are planning 3 further mission training schools in the future, 2 in Kona and one in Finland. They will also be travelling to California to visit current supporters and meet with potential new supporters so they can continue in their work. They have asked for prayer for: Wisdom on how to parent the kids joining them on their missions, and the hope many will come to know the Lord. Their meetings with the support teams will be fruitful. The students who graduated, that they will continue to go on with the Lord and follow him to the mission field! Wisdom for Johnny as he leads in the planning of the new schools. The Lord to bring many hungry students to these schools! They are also planning a trip to England in the summer! Pray they find good tickets!!!!

 Lenny Rogers

Lenny Rogers

Lenny Rogers

Lenny is serving Jesus from New Life Farm, which is a couple of miles north-east of the village of Orllan in the province of Podujeva, Kosovo. Using modern agricultural practices he encourages the local rural population to return to the land they deserted during the Kosovo war of the late 1990’s. Lenny employs agriculture and friendship as the primary tools to quietly communicate the Gospel amongst the ethnic Albanian population which is predominantly Islamic.
A barn on Lenny’s farm in Kosovo has been burned down, in what looks like an arson attack. Folks from our church helped to build this barn. It is a serious blow to the work. Please pray and encourage Lenny in any way you can. There will be a basket at the back for the next couple of weeks for donations towards rebuilding the barn. Here are some photos of the barn before, during and after the fire. For more info contact Lenny direct or Graham Morris 01579 383599, email morrisitfc@hotmail.com .

The Todorov Family

The Todorovs are currently pastoring a rapidly-growing church in Varna, Bulgaria.
The Evangelical Baptist Church has existed in the area of Varna since 1927. The Church building used to be at 72 Nish Blvd (100 G.Dimitrov Blvd), until in 1985, by the decision of the local authorities, it was demolished and was forced to move to the suburbs of the city.

In 1989, a small group of believers started to live with the vision of the church being returned to the centre of the city. For seven years this group of people grew in number, relocating from one place to another, seeking a place for their house of prayer. God provided the solution when in 1999 the Church obtained one part of the property it owns today. This is how our newest history starts. What we long and pray for is: to serve God, bringing peace, blessing and encouragement to the people in our neighbourhood and even the entire city! For more about our ministry please visit our church website here or for our latest news see TodorovNewsletter March 14
